Trae Young Responds to Idea He 'Just Started' Passing, 'Let's Do Our Research'

Trae Young is pushing back at what he sees as a potential "bad narrative."

The Atlanta Hawks guard responded to an ESPN clip Thursday in which Marcus Morris said Young "just started passing" at this stage of his career.

"Let's do our research," Young posted with a laughing emoji:

Young led the league in assists for the first time in his career this season when he posted 11.6 a night. However, it's not as if he wasn't racking up the assists before the 2024-25 campaign.

It was the third straight year he finished with double-digit assists per game after posting 10.2 in 2022-23 and 10.8 in 2023-24. The only time he didn't finish with better than nine assists per game was during his rookie season in 2018-19 when he posted 8.1 a night.

While Young may be a point guard who is eager to launch from deep, he has still been a willing facilitator every step of the way.

Those types of consistent assist numbers don't happen to someone who "just started passing" this past season, and Young made sure to take to social media to let everyone know about it.
