Carmelo Anthony, Paul George Don't Think Giannis Will Demand Bucks Trade Amid Rumors

Carmelo Anthony and Paul George aren't convinced that Giannis Antetokounmpo will ask to be traded from the Milwaukee Bucks despite the rumors surrounding his uncertain future with the organization.

"Giannis is that old era cut, I think he wanna stay in Milwaukee his whole career," George said on Podcast P with Paul George.

"He ain't going nowhere," Anthony later added.

After the Bucks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in five games during the first round of the 2025 playoffs, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo was "open-minded" about exploring his future outside of Milwaukee "for the first time in his career."

Still, the two-time MVP hasn't officially request a trade.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Bucks' plan to pitch Antetokounmpo on remaining with the team is to view the 2025-26 season as a "gap year" with star point guard Damian Lillard in danger of missing the entire year after suffering a torn Achilles in Game 4 against the Pacers.

Milwaukee has struggled to string together deep postseason runs following its championship victory in 2021, losing in the second round during the team's 2021-22 campaign before suffering three consecutive first-round exits.

Despite the recent lack of playoff success, Antetokounmpo has remained one of the league's top players on both ends of the court. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game to go along with a 60.7 effective field-goal percentage during the 2024-25 season.

If the 30-year-old requests to be moved, several teams have already been linked to him including the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Miami Heat.

Anthony and George don't believe that Antetokounmpo wants to experience a change of scenery, though.
