SGA Reportedly Gave $10K Gift Baskets to Each Thunder Player After Winning NBA MVP
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave a generous gift to his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates after winning 2024-25 MVP honors.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Gilgeous-Alexander presented each of his teammates with $10,000 gift baskets that contained Rolexes, iPhones, Beats by Dre headsets and customized Canada Goose jackets.
The superstar lead guard was officially named MVP on Wednesday.
His teammates previously showed off their new watches in a video posted by Thunder forward Jaylin Williams.
Gilgeous-Alexander wrapped up an impressive regular-season performance for an Oklahoma City squad that finished with the best record in the NBA at 68-14, leading the league by averaging 32.7 points per game.
He also dished out a career-high 6.4 assists to go along with 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game, shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three-point territory.
Gilgeous-Alexander earned the award over fellow finalists Nikola Jokić and Giannis Antetokounmpo, an impressive feat considering Jokić and Antetokounmpo have won five of the past six MVP trophies.
His heroics helped the Thunder enter the playoffs with momentum, sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round before taking down the Denver Nuggets in seven games during their second-round clash.
Oklahoma City currently holds a 1-0 series lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals.
While Gilgeous-Alexander has struggled with his perimeter shooting, he's still remained an elite all-around offensive threat in the 2025 postseason. He's averaged 29.2 points and 6.6 assists per game on 46.7/27.4/84.5 shooting splits in 12 playoff starts.
As the three-time All-Star attempts to lead the Thunder to their first NBA Finals appearance since 2012, he recognized his teammates for their efforts throughout his MVP season.
