Toumani Camara Trade Value Reportedly Set at 2 1st-Round Picks by Blazers amid Rumors

It is reportedly going to take quite the offer to convince the Portland Trail Blazers to trade Toumani Camara this offseason.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic responded to a hypothetical trade offer during a question-and-answer session on Wednesday (59-minute mark) that would see the Los Angeles Lakers send Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, Dalton Knecht and a first-round pick to the Trail Blazers for Deandre Ayton and Camara and said he believes Portland would turn it down.

"I have heard that the Blazers want something like two firsts for Camara, so maybe they view Dalton and a first as sufficient, but I think Portland probably says no, to be honest," he said.

While Camara is far from a household name, it is clear the rebuilding Trail Blazers value the 25-year-old who is still under contract through the 2026-27 campaign. That is especially true after the 2023 second-round draft pick showed notable improvement in his second season.

The forward was a secondary contributor as a rookie but averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from deep in 2024-25.

He was a bright spot for a Portland team that struggled on the way to a 36-46 record and could become even more valuable if he continues his trajectory of improvement next season and beyond.

While Camara can be a matchup problem on offense because of his ability to stretch the floor, he is also an impressive defender who can guard multiple positions. He held his own on the perimeter and held opponents to 0.5 percent worse shooting than their normal averages from beyond the arc, per NBA.com.

He is someone Portland can build around in the future, so it comes as no surprise it apparently wants significant assets in return if it is going to give him up in a potential trade.
