Cooper Flagg Reportedly 'Scheduling a Visit to Dallas' After Mavs Won Draft Lottery

Cooper Flagg, the likely No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, is reportedly preparing to visit the Dallas Mavericks after the team won the draft lottery on May 12.

"All indications from Flagg's camp are that he is thrilled with potentially joining a playoff-contending team with strong veterans, despite initially appearing shocked by the lottery's outcome," ESPN's Jonathan Givony reported Monday. "Sources tell ESPN that Flagg is scheduling a visit to Dallas."

Dallas jumped 10 spots in the projected draft order on lottery night and will now have the opportunity to select Flagg, who's coming off a standout freshman season at Duke.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon previously reported that the Mavericks plan to draft Flagg with the top choice and "will not entertain the possibility of trading away the pick for a proven superstar."

The 18-year-old showcased his talent on both ends of the floor throughout his lone year with the Blue Devils. In 37 starts, Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per game on 48.1/38.5/84.0 shooting splits.

The winner of the 2025 Wooden Award also recorded 21.0 points and 5.0 assists per game in five March Madness appearances while shooting 50 percent from three-point territory.

Dallas was also projected to add Flagg with the No. 1 choice in the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.

As the Mavericks attempt to bounce back from a disappointing 39-43 regular-season record, the opportunity to bring in Flagg as a long-term piece alongside Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving appears to be too enticing for the team to pass up on.

The Duke forward is already looking to visit with his potential future team.
