Michael Jordan Bulls Jersey Worn During 1992-93 NBA Season Sells for $2.6M at Auction
Michael Jordan's game-worn jersey from the 1992-93 season was purchased for $2.6 million at a Heritage Auctions sale on Sunday, according to ESPN's Dan Hajducky.
Jordan wore the uniform for at least 17 games in the 1992-93 campaign, which saw him win the scoring title and his third NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls. He was also pictured in the jersey on the Oct. 18, 1993 issue of Sports Illustrated.
While that was a hefty sum to pay for a game-worn uniform, it paled in comparison to Jordan's "Last Dance" jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals, which sold for a whopping $10 million in September 2022.
It is the most expensive piece of Jordan memorabilia ever sold and, at the time, was the record price for any auctioned game-worn uniform, though Babe Ruth's "Called Shot" jersey from the 1932 World Series easily eclipsed it at a 2024 auction, selling for $24.1 million.
