Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers to Wear Gold Statement Uniform for Rest of 2025 NBA Playoffs
In terms of design aesthetics, the NBA is trying to keep it simple for the remainder of the 2025 playoffs.
The Pacers announced they're donning their all-gold statement uniforms for the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks:
According to the Indianapolis Star's Dustin Dopirak, this is partially the result of a memo from the NBA. The league reportedly "directed teams to return to core uniforms" for the final two rounds.
Wearing the same look over and over again can also be a way for a team to preserve some good luck.
The Cleveland Cavaliers broke out their black sleeved jerseys when down 3-1 to the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals. The sleeved jerseys were divisive at the time, but those are now synonymous with the Cavs' greatest triumph.
In the case of the Pacers, they had their statement unis on when they took Games 1, 2 and 5 against Cleveland in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Maybe there's something imbued in the threads that will help lift Indiana past the Knicks too.
