Mitchell Robinson’s Truck, Timothee Chalamet and Top Videos After Knicks Beat Celtics

Adam WellsMay 17, 2025

It turns out the New York Knicks eliminating their biggest rival in the playoffs to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 led to a massive celebration in Manhattan on Friday night.

Following the Knicks' 119-81 win over the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, the party started and might still be going on at this point.

Vehicles got involved with Mitchell Robinson showing off his custom truck while driving through streets, Timothée Chalamet nearly getting pulled from his SUV when he stuck his head out the window to join the fray and Spike Lee acknowledging the masses from the sunroof of his car.

Fans were dancing on top of buses, hanging out on billboards and crowdsurfing with the aid of a guardrail.

Fans also got a visit from some special guests during the celebration. Knicks governor James Dolan passed along the game ball to two young kids; Precious Achiuwa got to bask in the glory of the biggest win of his career; and Spider-Man took time from fighting crime to enjoy the party.

The celebration wasn't entirely pleasant for everyone trying to make their way through the city. The Celtics' team bus wasn't exactly met with loud cheers as it was leaving Madison Square Garden.

Knicks forward Mikal Bridges may have joined in on the party later, but he acknowledged they still have more work to do while also being happy that everyone in New York City seemed very happy with how things played out in this series.

This was a perfect set up for the Knicks to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. They lost eight of nine games to the Celtics in the regular season since the start of last season, including all four matchups in 2024-25.

When the Eastern Conference semifinals started, it looked like more of the same for the Knicks against their nemesis. The Celtics led by 20 midway through the third quarter in Game 1.

Things turned from that point on when the Celtics stopped making shots, allowing the Knicks to overcome that huge deficit to steal a 108-105 win. They trailed by at least 14 points in each of the first five games, yet still led the series 3-2 with a chance to close it out at home.

The Knicks didn't waste that opportunity by opening up a 64-37 lead at halftime on Friday. The second half was largely just a pre-celebration for everyone in MSG and around New York City before the actual celebration could begin.

Fans made the most of their moment by throwing a heck of a party. If this is what Knicks fans are doing after winning a second-round series, we can only imagine what the celebration will look like if they beat the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.

If the Knicks go on to win the championship, there may not be enough grease in the world to cover all of the surfaces that fans will be trying to climb.
