Cooper Flagg Reportedly Interviewed with Celtics at NBA Draft Combine amid Mavs Rumors
Cooper Flagg's hometown team is giving him a look prior to the 2025 NBA Draft.
During Friday's episode of The Kevin O'Connor Show, Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports reported that the Boston Celtics interviewed Flagg as well as fellow top prospect Tre Johnson ahead of June's Draft.
O'Connor said that while the interviews don't necessarily signal that the team will trade up in the Draft, he did acknowledge the decision as "interesting."

The Celtics are currently slated to select 28th in the first round.
Flagg is projected as the No. 1 pick and Johnson as the No. 5 pick in the 2025 Draft by Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman. Barring a trade or unprecedented fall, it is very unlikely that the Celtics would be in a position to select either player.
However, the Celtics will likely have to shed some salary in the offseason to avoid a heavy second apron charge. That could include several role player departures or potentially a major impact player.
If the team explores the latter, compensation could include an early first-round selection. With team's like the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets potentially shopping early picks, there could be an opportuniity for Boston to make a move.
