Myles Turner Reportedly Expected to Stay with Pacers on New Contract in NBA FA

Julia StumbaughMay 16, 2025

Myles Turner is expected to re-sign with the Indiana Pacers this offseason, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

"The rising expectation, league sources say, is that Turner will be extending his stay in the Hoosier State," Fischer wrote Friday.

Turner has played 10 seasons for Indiana since he was drafted by the organization in 2015. He is currently set to hit unrestricted free agency after the expiration of his two-year, $40.9 million contract this spring.

That deal isn't set to expire yet in part thanks to Turner, who helped the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with a dagger three-pointer in the final 30 seconds of a Game 5 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That game-sealing shot came days after Turner wrote about what it meant for him to have played all 10 of his NBA seasons for the Pacers in The Players' Tribune.

Turner wrote in the article that "a big part of what I’ve realized — and what means so much to me about my journey — is that it isn’t just '10 years in the league.' It’s 10 years in one city."

Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan said ahead of the 2024-25 season that the organization was hoping to bring Turner back for 2025-26. A second straight deep run with the Pacers could help provide even more motivation for Turner to seek is next contract in Indiana.

For now, Turner and the Pacers will focus on their upcoming playoff series against either the Boston Celtics or New York Knicks. Game 1 is already scheduled for Wednesday, May 21.
