Knicks' Josh Hart Bloodied After Elbow to Face from Celtics' Luke Kornet in G5 Photo
Josh Hart has not been afraid to engage physically in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
The New York Knicks guard was left bloodied after taking an elbow to the face by Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet.
Hart would make both his foul shots and exited the game moments later to change his uniform. The Knicks led the Celtics 32-30 after the first quarter.
Hart notably was able to return to the game early in the second quarter. Prior to the injury, he had registered four points, two rebounds and one assist.
He has been an impactful piece for the Knicks in the postseason, averaging 12.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 10 games. This helped the team claim a 4-2 series victory over the Detroit Pistons in the first round and jump out to a 3-1 lead over the Celtics in Round 2.
If Hart and the Knicks are able to claim the series win over Boston, the team will reach the Conference Finals for the first time since 1999-00 and will face the Indiana Pacers for a spot in the NBA Finals.
