With the top pick comes the likely selection of Duke superstar Cooper Flagg.
Flagg has been the prized possession of the 2025 draft class for a few years.
Flagg was a superstar in high school and he lived up to the hype in college at Duke.
The likely No. 1 overall pick in June averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in his lone collegiate campaign.
Flagg also shot 48.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range as he led Duke to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
He’s expected to make an instant impact wherever he goes because of his ability on both sides of the ball, as Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman noted:
"Just like when he arrived at Duke, Flagg should provide instant athletic production, defensive intensity and passing IQ. But over the course of last season, we saw gradual improvement to his self-creation, shotmaking diversity and shooting range."
Flagg's combination with Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving, when he gets healthy, should put Dallas right back into the playoff conversation in the Western Conference as early as his rookie season.
