Draymond Green Calls Out 'Agenda' After Technical Foul in Warriors' Loss to T-Wolves

Adam WellsMay 9, 2025

Draymond Green is pushing back against what he feels is an "agenda" to portray him in a certain light after he received a technical foul in the second quarter of the Golden State Warriors' 117-93 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals.

In a brief statement to reporters at his locker room after the game, Green called out the "agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry Black man."

The technical foul was called midway through the second quarter. Green was initially fouled by Timberwolves center Naz Reid. He then rose up and acted like he was making a basketball move in hopes of drawing a shooting foul. But in the process, he hit Reid in the head with his elbow, causing Reid to fall to the ground.

After a review confirmed the technical foul, Green got into a heated discussion with the official and was yelling at anyone who would listen before being sent to the bench.

Green's postgame frustration may have been impacted by a different situation that occurred in the fourth quarter when he was on a stationary bike. Footage of a fan directing a racial slur at Green was circulated from the arena.

The fan was ejected and escorted out of the arena by security.

Green is on the verge of receiving an automatic one-game suspension for technical fouls. Thursday was the fifth tech he has been called for in the Warriors' first nine playoff games.

NBA rules state that a player who receives seven technical fouls is automatically suspended for one game in the postseason. They will receive an additional one-game ban for each two technical fouls assessed after the seventh.

Playing without Stephen Curry due to a hamstring injury, the Warriors suffered their worst loss of the postseason. They will host the Timberwolves in Game 3 at Chase Center on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET with the series tied 1-1.
