Paul Pierce Posts Videos of 20-Mile Walk to Back Up Take After Celtics' Loss to Knicks
Down 2-0 to the New York Knicks in the second round, the Boston Celtics have a big challenge ahead of them. So does their former star Paul Pierce.
Pierce, who won a title with the Celtics in 2008, said that if Boston dropped Game 2 at home, he'd walk from his home to the FS1 studio.
"If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you I'm walking here tomorrow," Pierce said on Speak. "I'm walking here, 15 miles. I'm walking here in my robe, no shoes on, bare feet. If the Celtics lose tonight."
Pierce's declaration wasn't just big talk, as he posted multiple videos of his journey before finally reaching the studio on Thursday:
Pierce had previously posted the route he would have to take, showing it would take eight hours to complete the walk:
The Celtics were well on their way to taking care of business in Game 2 as they led by 20 points in the third quarter, but things went downhill fast. The Knicks ended the game on a 23-6 run and walked away with a win after Jalen Brunson hit a pair of clutch free throws.
Now, Boston will go to New York with a 2-0 deficit, and Pierce is being forced to eat his words.
