Klay Thompson Unveils New Haircut in Video After Mavs' 2025 NBA Playoff Exit

Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson is debuting a new look after his team's postseason elimination.

A Los Angeles-based barber shared a video on Wednesday showing Thompson both before and after his new cut.

The Mavericks were eliminated from the 2024-25 play-in tournament on April 18 with a 120-106 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Thompson was sidelined for the elimination loss with a left foot sprain.

Thompson finished his first season in Dallas having averaged 14.0 points per game in 72 appearances, all starts. He shot 39.1 percent from deep while trying 7.7 three-pointers per game, his lowest attempts total since returning from two seasons missed to injury in 2021.

That may have been Thompson's lowest production total since his rookie 2011-12 season, but it also made him one of the Mavericks' most consistent players in a season highlighted by the trade of Luka Dončić and injuries to Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.

That is little consolation for a team that missed out on the playoffs less than one year after Dončić led them to the NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors, with whom Thompson won four championships while playing alongside Stephen Curry for the first 11 seasons of his NBA career, meanwhile advanced to the Western Conference semifinals last Sunday with a Game 7 win over the Houston Rockets.

Thompson has played with shorter hair for earlier spans of his career, including during the Warriors' run to back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018.

He will now hope returning to that look will coincide with a resurgence for both himself and the Mavericks next fall.
