It came after a very close vote alongside Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl:
Hellebuyck is the fifth goaltender in the expansion era, and the first since the Montreal Canadiens' Carey Price in 2015, to win the award.
Though rare, it came as no surprise to hometown fans.
He earned his place in the NHL's record books after leading all goaltenders with 47 wins, a 2.00 goals-against average and eight shutouts.
Hellebuyck also recorded a .925 save percentage, ranked second among goalies with at least 25 games played, while helping lead the Jets to the Presidents' Trophy as the top team of the regular season.
He additionally won the William M. Jennings Trophy for a second straight season after the Jets allowed an NHL-low 191 total goals, including shootout winners, in 2024-25.
Hellebuyck also won the Vezina Trophy for the third time. He won the award last year and in 2019-20.
Draisaitl finished second in Hart Trophy voting after leading the NHL with 52 goals despite missing 11 games due to injury. Nikita Kucherov finished third after winning the Art Ross Trophy with 121 points in 78 games.
