Drake Bets $620K on Timberwolves to Beat LeBron James, Lakers in NBA Playoffs Game 3

Drake is betting $620,000 that Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves regain their first-round series lead over the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The rapper shared a screenshot of himself betting on the Timberwolves to win Friday night's Game 3 over LeBron James and the Lakers.

"Lemme see sum real quick Ant," Drake wrote.

Edwards recorded 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds last Saturday to help power the Wolves to a 117-95 Game 1 victory over the Lakers.

He put up another 25 points in Tuesday's Game 2, but Luka Dončić led the Lakers to a 94-85 win as the Timberwolves struggled to find their Game 1 rhythm.

Edwards said after the game that he would need to work out how to get past the Lakers' defense.

“This was the first time I’ve seen this one. Every time I caught the ball at the top, it was kind of like it was in a zone,” Edwards said Tuesday, per Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Even when you cut guys through, they just stayed. So, I got to be ready to make those reads.”

Edwards noted, however, that the Wolves "found a way to get our defense back tight, so yeah, I feel like we should be going into Game 3 smiling.”

Given that the Timberwolves held the Lakers below 100 points in both games, Edwards has had time to work on his offensive game plan and the series is shifting to Minneapolis, Drake is ready to bet on the Wolves to take control of the series this weekend.

Game 3 tips off Friday night at 9:30 p.m. at the Timberwolves' Target Center.
