Bob Myers Reportedly Could Draw Interest for Suns, Hawks Exec Roles amid NBA Rumors

The Phoenix Suns and team governor Mat Ishbia may desire to bring former Golden State Warriors executive on board to sort out the mess they've found themselves in after a disappointing 2024-25 season, but it might be a long shot.

According to NBA reporters Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, "You'd struggle to find many league observers who like [Phoenix's chances to hire Myers]. Ishbia is said to have maintained a longstanding interest in trying to convince Myers to return to the role in which he presided over four Warriors championships. Can the Suns actually pull that off? There is far more skepticism than belief in the desert air at the moment."

Another team reportedly sniffing around Myers is the Atlanta Hawks.

Per Stein and Fischer, "Myers' name has been mentioned as a potential target in Atlanta, too, and he has already worked closely with [newly promoted general manager Onsi Saleh] when both were with the Warriors... though it is hard in the extreme to picture the former Golden State shot-caller moving that far away from the West Coast."

Myers was part of the front office that drafted Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in Golden State and lured Kevin Durant to the team in free agency. Under his watch, the Dubs won four NBA titles, and he was named the league's Executive of the Year twice.

So it's no surprise that teams might try to seduce him and end his media career with ESPN. For now, however, it doesn't seem likely.
