Bucks' Damian Lillard Reportedly Feared to Have Suffered Achilles Injury vs. Pacers

Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard is feared to have suffered a torn Achilles after being injured midway through the first quarter of Sunday's Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

Lillard suffered the injury while helping his team secure an offensive rebound, falling to the court after getting the ball to a teammate.

He had two rebounds and two assists in six minutes prior to exiting. He was subsequently ruled out.

The Bucks ultimately lost the game, 129-103. They now face a 3-1 deficit, with the series shifting back to Indiana on Tuesday.

Per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers said after the game that Lillard will undergo an MRI on Monday, noting the situation isn't "very promising."

Lillard, 34, missed the final month of the regular season after he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and required to take blood-thinning medication. That put his availability for the NBA playoffs in question, though surprisingly he was cleared to play in time for Game 2 of the team's first-round series against the Pacers.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, doctors "told Bucks officials that the speed of Lillard's recovery has never been seen before, but it occurred because of early treatment, detection and specialists working on him before a formal diagnosis."

Lillard showed the expected rust upon his return, putting up 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field to go along with seven assists.

The Bucks are obviously a worse team without the nine-time All-Star and one-time first-team All-NBA selection available, though the team did rattle off an eight-game winning streak. The playoffs are a different beast, however, and losing Lillard's shot-making, experience and clutch gene is a huge blow.

Should Lillard miss time, players like Gary Trent Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. will likely see a bigger role off the bench.
