Notable Predraft Trades

Texans, Browns Swap Draft Picks

The Houston Texans traded a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 166) and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for two 2025 sixth-round picks (No. 179 and No. 216) and a 2025 seventh-round pick (No. 255).

Metcalf to Steelers for 2nd-Round Pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers added another major weapon across from George Pickens last month when they acquired star wide receiver DK Metcalf and the 185th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft from the Seattle Seahawks for the No. 52 overall pick in the second round and the No. 223 overall pick in the seventh round.

Pittsburgh signed the two-time Pro Bowler to a new contract following the trade, while the Seahawks picked up a third draft selection within the top 52 picks.

Seattle subsequently replaced Metcalf by signing Cooper Kupp in free agency, meaning the Seahawks don't necessarily have to take a wide receiver in the first two rounds, giving them the ability to address some of their other needs.

Geno Smith to Raiders for 3rd-Round Pick

Along with the trade of Metcalf to Pittsburgh, the Seahawks' busy offseason saw them send quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Smith established himself as a solid starting quarterback in Seattle, earning two Pro Bowl selections, but the Seahawks decided to go in a different direction by signing Sam Darnold as his replacement in free agency.

As was the case with Metcalf, the Seahawks quickly replaced Smith, giving them a ton of flexibility with the five picks they have over the first three rounds.

Tunsil to Commanders for 3rd-Round Pick, More

The Washington Commanders fortified their offensive line last month, acquiring offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and the 128th overall pick in the fourth-round of the 2025 NFL draft from the Houston Texans for the No. 88 overall pick in the third round and the No. 236 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft, as well as 2026 second- and fourth-round picks.

In Tunsil, the Commanders got a five-time Pro Bowler and a reliable blindside protector for quarterback Jayden Daniels, who won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and led Washington to the NFC Championship Game last season.

As for the Texans, they replaced Tunsil by signing Cam Robinson in free agency, and they now have four picks in the first three rounds of the 2025 draft.
