He threw six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits on Saturday, helping the Tigers secure a 4-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins. The 22-year-old retired 17 of the final 18 batters that he faced.
While Jobe recorded just two strikeouts, he explained that he was looking to stay in the strike zone with his pitches instead of attempting to get hitters to chase.
"Just getting back in the zone and throwing strikes,” Jobe said, per MLB.com's Jason Beck. “I kind of just committed to throwing strikes and not trying to chase strikeouts.”
Expectations are high for the right-hander, as he was listed as the No. 2 overall prospect in the majors for the 2025 season by Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter.
In three starts during Jobe's 2025 campaign, he's compiled a 3.00 ERA and 1.133 WHIP in 15 innings of work. He's also recorded nine strikeouts compared to eight walks.
