Top 100 MLB Prospects for the 2025 Season
Welcome to Bleacher Report's first Top 100 prospect list of the 2025 MLB season.
The following factors helped determine where each player fell in our rankings:
Potential: Potential trumps production a lot of the time, especially in the lower levels of the minors and with recent draft picks. Skill set and tools are often better indicators of what a player will become.
Talent: For prospects in the higher levels of the minors who are close to breaking into the big leagues, production and talent level were the determining factors since those players are viewed as more complete products.
Eligibility: A player must maintain rookie eligibility to be considered for inclusion. That means no more than 130 big league at-bats for position players, 50 innings for pitchers or 45 days on the active roster. Dylan Crews (WAS) and Jasson Dominguez (NYY) have exhausted their prospect eligibility since the start of the 2025 season.
Let's start with the next 100 prospects who fell just outside the rankings.

91. SS Arjun Nimmala, TOR
-Outfielder Jonny Farmelo holds the distinction of being the first player ever taken with a Prospect Promotion Inceptive (PPI) pick, with the Mariners receiving the No. 29 overall selection in the 2023 draft after Julio Rodríguez won 2022 AL Rookie of the Year. The 20-year-old had an .820 OPS with 17 extra-base hits and 18 steals in 46 games at Single-A in his pro debut last year before he suffered a torn ACL in June.
-Still only 20 years old, Cam Collier took a significant step forward last year in his second full professional season, posting a .798 OPS with 21 doubles, 20 home runs and 74 RBI in 119 games at High-A. He also homered in the Futures Game and took home MVP honors.
-The only Blue Jays prospect on our Top 100 list, shortstop Arjun Nimmala has 60-grade raw power, good speed and a plus arm. The 19-year-old hit .232/.325/.482 with 20 doubles, 17 home runs and 47 RBI in 91 games between rookie ball and Single-A last year to jump into the Top 100 conversation, though he will need to improve on a 30.7 percent strikeout rate.

83. RHP Emiliano Teodo, TEX
82. 1B Tre' Morgan, TB
81. RHP AJ Smith-Shawver, ATL
-An extremely versatile prospect, Cole Carrigg split his time between shortstop and center field last year after also making a handful of starts behind the plate in his first pro season. The 22-year-old filled up the stat sheet last season, hitting .280/.358/.475 with 16 doubles, 11 triples, 16 home runs, 60 RBI, 80 runs scored and 51 steals in 114 games at High-A.
-Emiliano Teodo (1.98 ERA, 110 K, 86.1 IP at AA), Alejandro Rosario (2.24 ERA, 129 K, 88.1 IP at A/A+) and Winston Santos (3.67 ERA, 138 K, 110.1 IP at A+/AA) all had terrific 2024 seasons for a Rangers organization that has historically had a tough time developing pitching talent.
-Right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver made his MLB debut at the age of 20 during a breakout 2022 season, but he has yet to establish himself as a staple in the Atlanta rotation. He has the pure stuff to be an impact starter if he can continue to refine his command, and he won the No. 5 starter job out of camp this spring.

72. SS Konnor Griffin, PIT
71. OF Zyhir Hope, LAD
-Chandler Simpson hit .355/.410/.397 with 104 steals in 110 games between High-A and Double-A last season, and with a 70-grade hit tool and 80-grade speed he has the potential to be a dynamic leadoff hitter. The 24-year-old profiles similar to Juan Pierre, with a better arm in the outfield.
-The Nationals acquired Jarlin Susana in the Juan Soto blockbuster trade with the Padres, and he has some of the most electric stuff in pro baseball. With a 75-grade fastball that routinely touches 100 mph and a nasty slider, he had 157 strikeouts in 103.2 innings between Single-A and High-A last year. He has a high floor as a potentially elite closer if he is unable to stick in a starting role.
-The Dodgers acquired Jackson Ferris and Zyhir Hope in the deal that sent Michael Busch to the Cubs, and both of those prospects now appear on the B/R Top 100 prospect list. Hope, 20, showcased a 55-hit, 60-power offensive profile while batting .290/.419/.484 with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 36 RBI in 62 games between rookie ball and Single-A in 2024.

62. 2B Christian Moore, LAA
61. 2B/OF Luke Keaschall, MIN
-The Guardians love switch-hitting middle infielders with plus hit tools, and Angel Genao is the latest to emerge as a top-tier prospect. The 20-year-old hit .330/.379/.499 with 38 doubles, 10 home runs, 71 RBI and 25 steals in 110 games between Single-A and High-A, and he checks all the boxes defensively to stick at shortstop.
-Christian Moore hit .375/.451/.797 with 34 home runs and 74 RBI in 72 games last spring while leading Tennessee to the College World Series title, then went No. 8 overall in the 2024 draft. If recent organizational trends are any indication, he will make his MLB debut later this year.
-The Twins have done a nice job developing offensive-minded utility players in recent years, and Luke Keaschall has a chance to be the best of the bunch. The 22-year-old hit .303/.420/.483 with 21 doubles, 15 home runs and 48 RBI in 103 games between High-A and Double-A last year while playing primarily second base and center field.

51. SS Jesús Made, MIL
-After hitting .278/.375/.473 with 29 doubles, 19 home runs and 75 RBI in 127 games at Triple-A last season, Owen Caissie has little left to prove in the minors, but there is also no clear path to playing time for him in the Cubs outfield. The 22-year-old could end up being used as a trade chip this summer to address a more pressing need.
-Justin Crawford hit .313/.360/.444 with 38 extra-base hits and 42 steals in 110 games between High-A and Double-A last season, and he could be the long-term answer the Phillies have been searching for in center field.
-Signed for $950,000 during the 2024 international signing window, Jesús Made quickly emerged as one of the best prospects in the Dominican Summer League in his pro debut, hitting .331/.458/.554 with 21 extra-base hits, 28 steals and more walks (39) than strikeouts (28) in 51 games. His stateside debut will be among the most anticipated of 2025, and he could fly up these rankings with a repeat performance.

42. 1B Nick Kurtz, ATH
41. LHP Quinn Mathews, STL
-An injury to Sean Murphy expedited the timetable for Drake Baldwin to make his MLB debut, and he ended breaking camp as Atlanta's starting catcher. The 24-year-old hit .276/.370/.423 with 19 doubles, 16 home runs and 88 RBI over 124 games in the upper levels of the minors last year, and his defensive game is solid across the board.
-Left-hander Hagen Smith went 9-2 with a 2.04 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 161 strikeouts in 84 innings during his junior season at the University of Arkansas last spring, and the White Sox took him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 draft. He was shut down after signing and will make his pro debut at High-A in 2025.
-Best known for his 156-pitch odyssey at the 2023 College World Series, left-hander Quinn Mathews has quickly outperformed his status as a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft. The 24-year-old logged a 2.76 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 202 strikeouts in 143.1 innings across four minor league levels in his pro debut last year, closing out the season at Triple-A.

31. C Ethan Salas, SD
-Few pitching prospects did more to raise their prospect profile last season than Brandon Sproat, who now stands as the unquestioned top pitching prospect in the Mets system. The University of Florida product posted a 3.40 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 131 strikeouts in 116.1 innings, and he enters the 2025 season knocking on the MLB door.
-Only Noah Schultz (CWS) ranks higher among left-handed pitchers on our Top 100 list than Thomas White, who has surpassed 2023 draft classmate Noble Meyer as the best pitching prospect in the Marlins system. The 20-year-old had a 2.81 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 96 innings between Single-A and High-A last year.
-Ethan Salas took his lumps as an 18-year-old at the High-A level in 2024, hitting .206/.288/.311 with 33 extra-base hits in 469 plate appearances. His spot in these rankings is based more on raw tools and long-term upside than anything he has done on the field to this point, though he did post a .751 OPS with four home runs and 21 RBI in 23 games in the Arizona Fall League.

25. OF Cam Smith, HOU
24. RHP Rhett Lowder, CIN
23. RHP Kumar Rocker, TEX
22. 1B/3B Coby Mayo, BAL
21. OF Emmanuel Rodriguez, MIN
-Originally drafted as a two-way player after showcasing a triple-digits fastball on the mound, Jac Caglianone will now turn his full attention to hitting as a first baseman. He hit a ridiculous .419/.544/.875 with 35 home runs in 66 games last spring at the University of Florida, and could see the big leagues before 2025 is over.
-Cam Smith turned heads when he hit .313/.396/.609 over 134 plate appearances in his pro debut last season after going No. 14 overall in the 2024 draft, climbing all the way to Double-A in his pro debut. The Cubs traded him to the Astros during the offseason as the prospect centerpiece in the Kyle Tucker deal, and he played his way onto the Opening Day roster with a stellar spring.
-Slugger Coby Mayo hit .287/.364/.562 with 23 doubles, 22 home runs and 67 RBI in 89 games at Triple-A last season, and he would likely be in the big leagues if there was a clear path to everyday at-bats. The O's are once again fielding offers for Ryan Mountcastle, and moving him would open up a spot for Mayo.

15. SS Jordan Lawlar, ARI
14. SS Leo De Vries, SD
13. C Samuel Basallo, BAL
12. 1B Bryce Eldridge, SF
11. SS Sebastian Walcott, TEX
-Colt Emerson and Kevin McGonigle have two of the best hit tools in the minors, and their overall polish relative to their age and minor league level is a big reason they are regarded as top-tier prospects. That said, it remains to be seen if either will stick at shortstop, with Emerson perhaps fitting best at the hot corner, while McGonigle might end up at second base.
-With a towering 6'7", 240-pound frame, Bryce Eldridge has the potential to develop into an elite middle-of-the-order run producer with more than enough hit tool to back up his 70-grade power. The 20-year-old hit .292/.374/.516 with 27 doubles, 23 home runs and 92 RBI in 116 games over four minor league levels in 2024, finishing the season with eight games at Triple-A.
-After earning a spot on the D-backs' playoff roster in 2023, Jordan Lawlar spent the bulk of 2024 on the sidelines with thumb and hamstring injuries limiting him to 23 games. The 22-year-old played in the Dominican Winter League to get some needed reps, and he enters 2025 as a .291/.391/.496 hitter in 1,082 plate appearances in the minors.

4. 2B Kristian Campbell, BOS
3. SS Carson Williams, TB
2. RHP Jackson Jobe, DET
1. OF Roman Anthony, BOS
-A standout athlete who could have played football at Clemson, Bubba Chandler has seen his prospect stock steadily improve since turning his full attention to the baseball diamond. The 22-year-old had a 3.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 148 strikeouts in 119.2 innings between Double-A and Triple-A last season, and it won't be long before he's pitching alongside Paul Skenes at the top of the Pittsburgh rotation.
-Jackson Jobe has four pitches—fastball (70), slider (70), changeup (60) and cutter (60)—that all profile as a 60-grade offering or better, giving him the most complete arsenal of any pitching prospect in baseball. The 22-year-old won the No. 5 starter job out of camp for the Tigers, but considering he has never reached 100 innings pitched in a pro season, his workload will likely be capped at some point.
-The future is extremely bright in Boston, with Kristian Campbell already making waves after winning the starting second base job during spring training, while Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer are expected to join him in the big leagues at some point in 2025. All three have the potential to be perennial All-Stars and franchise cornerstones, and Campbell has already been locked up long-term with an eight-year, $60 million extension.
