NFL GM Calls Out 'Soft' Opponents of Tush Push 'Just Because You Can't Stop it'
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most unstoppable plays in the NFL, but some teams are trying to get the tush push banned this offseason.
While a handful of NFL teams have supported the Green Bay Packers' proposal to ban the tush push, other teams have no issue with the play. Per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz, one NFL general manager called out teams wanting to ban the play just because they can't defend it.
"You want my real opinion on this?" the current NFL GM asked. "I think it's pretty soft to ban a play just because you can't stop it. I'll leave the names out of it, but I think you know who I'm talking about."

Another NFL executive said the proposal to ban the tush push "is weak and reeks of jealousy," punishing only the Eagles "for being excellent at this play."
The proposal reportedly had "support" within the NFL's competition committee leading up to league meetings. On Tuesday, NFL owners voted to table the vote to ban the tush push until May, so the Eagles don't have to throw it out of their playbook just yet.
Per CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, 16 teams were against the rule to ban the tush push. He also noted that many teams were in favor of the NFL's competition committee continuing to study the play.
If there is sufficient evidence suggesting the tush push increases the chance of injuries, more teams will likely support banning it in May. For now, it's not going anywhere.
