Anthony Edwards Jokes Nikola Jokic Might Be Best NBA Player He's Seen Besides Himself
Anthony Edwards was so blown away by Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić's performance in Tuesday's game that he admitted the big man might challenge him as the best basketball player he's seen in person.
"Nikola Jokic, he might be the best basketball player I've ever seen close up, besides myself," Edwards joked after helping lead the Timberwolves to a 140-139 double-overtime victory, per ESPN. "Bruh, he's incredible. The MVP race is tough. I don't know. He had 60. That's crazy."

Jokic finished with 61 points, to be exact, while adding 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the loss. He set a new NBA record for the most points in a triple-double, surpassing star guards Luka Dončić and James Harden.
Unfortunately, Jokić's performance wasn't enough for a victory, as a pair of free throws by Timberwolves guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker with 0.1 seconds left secured the win for Minnesota in a wild ending.
Edwards had a strong performance as he did his best to keep up with Jokic, leading Minnesota with 34 points while adding 10 rebounds and eight assists. The win improved the Timberwolves' record to 44-32, the same as the Memphis Grizzlies, who currently occupy the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference.
Jokić and the Nuggets will take on the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in the second night of a back-to-back, while Edwards and the Timberwolves will visit the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
