The future of college basketball was on full display during the 2025 McDonald's All-American boys' basketball game on Tuesday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the West team earned bragging rights with a 105-92 victory.

Kansas-bound Darryn Peterson led the way for the victors with 18 points and was key in the West's efforts to pull away in the fourth quarter.

While many of college basketball's next generation of stars were on the floor Tuesday, the trio of AJ Dybantsa, Peterson and Cameron Boozer served as the headliners. After all, Dybantsa is the No. 1 prospect, Peterson is the No. 2 prospect and Boozer is the No. 3 prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

They also already know their destinations with Dybantsa heading to BYU, Peterson heading to Kansas and Boozer—who is the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer—following in his father's footsteps on the way to Duke.

All three of them could be competing to be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, but Dybantsa and Peterson got the chance to team up on the West Roster in Tuesday's game. That left Boozer on the East Roster with his brother and fellow Duke commit, Cayden, as well as the trio of UConn commits in Braylon Mullins, Eric Reibe and Darius Adams.

It was fitting that some of the early highlights came from Dybantsa and Peterson.

The former started the game with a thunderous two-handed dunk, while the latter threw down a putback slam while following a miss. They weren't the only ones to impress in the early going, though, as Cayden Boozer mixed in some outside shooting and drives to the lane to give the East team some initial momentum.

Cameron Boozer also flashed at times with his inside scoring and rebounding ability, but it was the West team that closed the first half on a run to take a 48-40 lead. Transition opportunities proved key in the second quarter, including when Peterson broke loose for yet another dunk.

The West extended its lead to double digits in the third quarter, although the East came charging back to take the lead itself with Cameron Boozer throwing down a dunk and showing off his athleticism by going coast-to-coast. Houston-bound Isiah Harwell also found his stroke from deep to help spearhead the comeback.

Alijah Arenas, who is the son of former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, helped the West respond to take the lead heading into the fourth, but there was far more intensity and back-and-forth runs than some may have expected for an All-Star Game.

But the biggest run of the game came in the fourth quarter via a Peterson dunk show.

He used his athleticism to create turnovers, blow past defenders in the half-court and create easy looks in transition. The result was multiple rim-rattling dunks and a comfortable double-digit lead down the stretch as the West team put the finishing touches on the victory.
