Former UNC PG Elliot Cadeau Commits to Dusty May, Michigan in CBB Transfer Portal
The Michigan men's basketball team added a point guard for the 2025-26 season on Monday.
Dushawn London of 247Sports reported that North Carolina transfer Elliot Cadeau elected to join head coach Dusty May and the Wolverines after choosing to leave the Tar Heels following his sophomore season.
"The (Michigan) coaching staff really believe in me and know what I can do," Cadeau said, per London. "I want to play in an offense that best suits me and my abilities, with the correct players around me so we can all win."

No. 1 MBB Prospect Picks Kansas 💥
Cadeau also shared the news on his Instagram account Monday.
There was a time when Cadeau was one of the most coveted players in the nation on the recruiting trail.
He was a 5-star prospect and the No. 11 overall player and No. 2 point guard in the 2023 class, per 247Sports' composite rankings. He chose North Carolina over Louisville, Texas Tech and others.
Cadeau was largely a secondary contributor during his freshman season despite starting 31 games and then turned the corner as a sophomore from a statistical standpoint. He averaged 9.4 points, 6.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from deep.
All of the numbers were improvements from his first season, but his growth from beyond the arc stood out the most after he shot just 18.9 percent from deep as a freshman.
His ability to continue improving as a shooter will be key as he transitions to the Big Ten. So will his efforts to reduce his turnovers after coughing the ball up an average of 3.1 times per game as someone who brought plenty to the table as a facilitator while also causing some issues in the offense with the mistakes.
Despite having some room for improvement, Cadeau gives Michigan plenty of momentum heading into the offseason after an impressive 2024-25 campaign.
It was May's first season at the helm, and he led the Wolverines to a 27-10 record, Big Ten tournament title and appearance in the Sweet 16. It was a stark contrast to the program's 8-24 effort during the 2023-24 campaign.
If May can continue landing playmakers like Cadeau in the transfer portal and on the recruiting trail, the program will keep on ascending after an impressive first season.
