Florida Beats Texas Tech to Clinch Final Four Berth as CBB Fans Blown Away By Comeback

Florida survived a late scare against Texas Tech in the 2025 NCAA Tournament on Saturday, securing a spot in the Final Four.

The No. 1 seed Gators trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half against the No. 3 Red Raiders, but they ultimately wrapped up an 84-79 win.

With Florida trailing by two points and just over one minute left in regulation, senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. hit a three-pointer that gave his team the lead once again.

Texas Tech couldn't score on its next two possessions, as the Gators connected on four free throws to pull away in the final seconds of the game.

Florida led by three points at halftime, but head coach Todd Golden's team struggled with turnovers and faced a 75-66 deficit with just under three minutes remaining in the second half.

The Gators quickly responded with a 9-0 run to tie the game, though.

Fans and pundits were amazed by Florida's comeback.

Clayton was stellar throughout the win, finishing with a game-high 30 points on 7-of-14 shooting. He hit three shots from behind the arc and connected on 13 of his 14 free-throw attempts.

Sophomore forward Thomas Haugh caught fire from three-point territory, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds off the bench while shooting 4-of-6 on triples.

The Gators became the first team to punch their ticket to the Final Four and will await the winner of Sunday's matchup between Auburn and Michigan State.
