Jimmy Butler Disappoints NBA Fans in Miami Return as Warriors Lose to Heat After Trade

Jimmy Butler's revenge game against the Miami Heat didn't go the way he hoped it would on Tuesday.

In his first game against the Heat since the trade that sent him to the Golden State Warriors in February, Butler had just 11 points and six rebounds on 5-of-12 from the field. The Warriors, who were without Stephen Curry as he makes his way back from a pelvic injury, lost in blowout fashion, 112-86.

Butler's exit from Miami was far from clean as he dealt with three suspensions before finally being traded. He likely wanted to put on a show in front of his former team, but he was from the best version of himself.

After the loss, fans were disappointed with Butler's revenge game.

Butler had some of the best years of his career in a Heat uniform and took the team to the NBA Finals twice, but his drama-filled exit means there's no love to be found between the two sides.

Butler will hope to get the best of his former squad the next time the two teams meet, but he'll have to wait until next season.

While the Heat got the win on Tuesday, Butler and the Warriors will likely get the last laugh. They've been playing tremendously since Butler arrived, winning 20 of 25 games and ascending to sixth place in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, Miami is threatening to miss the playoffs as it sits in 10th place in the East.
