Report: Michigan's Justin Pippen to Enter Transfer Portal; Son of NBA Legend Scottie
After a nondescript freshman year at Michigan in which he saw minimal playing time, point guard Justin Pippen reportedly will be seeking a new opportunity elsewhere.
According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, Pippen plans to enter the transfer portal this year. Pippen is the third son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen and the youngest brother of Memphis Grizzlies point guard Scotty Pippen Jr.
Pippen's reported transfer comes just a few days before the No. 5 Wolverines face No. 1 Auburn in the Sweet 16 on Friday. It's Michigan's first Sweet 16 appearance since 2022.

Pippen appeared in 28 games during his freshman campaign but averaged only 6.6 minutes and 1.6 points per game. He was the low man on Michigan's crowded and experienced backcourt depth chart led by juniors Tre Donaldson and Roddy Gayle Jr. and senior Nimari Burnett.
247Sports' composite ranked Pippen as a 4-star recruit and the No. 13 combo guard in the class of 2024. Branham wrote in his evaluation of Pippen that he's "a naturally talented guard with good instincts for the game" who "is very comfortable with the ball in his hands to score from all three levels and also set the tables for those around him."
Pippen is certainly hoping to follow in the footsteps of his brother and legendary father, the latter of whom won six NBA championships as a member of the iconic '90s Chicago Bulls. Perhaps he will land in a situation where he's able to see more time on the floor next season.
As for the Wolverines, they are riding a five-game win streak into Friday's matchup against the top-ranked Tigers, so they will try to continue riding that momentum to what would be a massive upset.
