The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a lopsided defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday despite Bronny James' big night, falling by the final score of 118-89.

The Lakers were shorthanded entering the contest with LeBron James, Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura ruled out due to their respective injuries.

A silver lining in the loss was the younger James, who wrapped up the best performance of his inaugural season in the NBA. James finished with a career-high 17 points, tied for the team lead.

He added five assists, three rebounds and one block while shooting 7-of-10 from the field in 30 minutes on the floor. James also connected on two of his four attempts from behind the arc.

Fans were impressed with the rookie.

The Lakers struggled offensively without their stars, shooting just 41.5 percent from the field as a team and committing 22 turnovers.

They were also unable to stop Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 28 points in 29 minutes while shooting 60 percent from the field.

Los Angeles fell to 43-26 with the loss, but the future seems bright following James' career night.
