Luka Doncic Amazes Fans as Lakers Dominate Nuggets with LeBron, Jokic, Murray Out
The Los Angeles Lakers are still without LeBron James, but they looked like a championship team on Wednesday thanks to an outstanding performance from Luka Dončić.
The Lakers downed the Denver Nuggets 120-108 with Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray not on the floor.
Dončić started hot, dropping 21 points in the first quarter and never looking back. He finished with 31 points, nine rebounds and seven assists despite sitting on the bench for the entire fourth quarter.
The Lakers also got a great game out of Austin Reaves, who finished with 22 points, five rebounds and eight assists.
Fans hyped Dončić on social media as the star continues to find his footing in Los Angeles.
Dončić had a bit of a slow start upon his arrival in Los Angeles, but he's since gotten hot and is starting to look like the MVP candidate he typically is. Through nine games in March, Dončić is putting up 30.9 points, nine rebounds and 8.3 assists per game.
Thanks to the strong play from Dončić, the Lakers are currently sitting in fourth place in the West at 43-25.
The next challenge for Dončić and Los Angeles will be maintaining the outstanding play in the postseason, and that task should get easier once James is back on the court.
