Tennessee 70, Auburn 65
Auburn will not have an opportunity to defend its SEC Championship.
The Tigers were edged out 70-65 by the Tennessee Volunteers in the semi-final round, ending the team's quest to repeat as champions after winning the regular season championship.
Auburn had a 33-32 halftime lead but Tennessee had a 38-point charge in the second half and limited Auburn's shot opportunities in the final minute.
The key of the day was at the free-throw line, as Tennessee dominated and Auburn struggled. The Volunteers went 25-of-27 from the line as a team while the Tigers were only 13-of-22 as a squad. This included the final minute, as Auburn's Johni Broome missed his two free throws and Tennessee's Jahmai Mashack hit both of his.
Zakai Zeigler led the Volunteers with 20 points and also added four rebounds and four assists. Chaz Lanier had 12 points and four rebounds while Jordan Gainey had 15 points and five rebounds off of the bench.
Auburn was led by Broome, who had 23 points and seven rebounds. Miles Kelly contributed 13 points and Denver Jones had 10 points and three assists.
Florida 104, Alabama 82
The Gators utilized an explosive second half to clinch their spot in the conference championship game.
Florida only led 47-45 at the half but erupted for 57 second half points while limiting the Crimson Tide to just 37. This came against an Alabama team that Florida had beaten by just five points earlier in March.
Six Gators scored in double figures, with Walter Clayton Jr's 22 points leading the charge. Rueben Chinyelu had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Micah Handlogten had 10 rebounds off of the bench.
Chris Youngblood led Alabama with 14 points. A rematch of the Iron Bowl did not come to fruition, so a third matchup between Alabama and Auburn would have to come in the NCAA Tournament.
Tennessee and Florida met twice in the regular season and split the matchups.
