Auburn had lost two straight games heading into Friday, most recently dropping an overtime heartbreaker to Alabama in last Saturday's regular-season finale.

Johni Broome helped the Tigers stop the skid with a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double in Friday's win over Ole Miss.

Despite last Saturday's overtime disappointment, Auburn could strengthen its bid for the top seed in the NCAA Tournament by continuing to advance this weekend.

Tennessee stands in the Tigers' way after eliminating Texas on Friday with an 83-72 quarterfinal victory.

Chaz Lanier put up 23 points against the Longhorns to help Tennessee clinch a spot in the semifinals.

Florida earned a spot in the semifinal round after pulling out to an early 15-2 lead over Missouri and never letting up.

The Gators led by 13 points at the half, then fended off a late Mizzou push to claim the Friday night quarterfinal victory.

Having now won ten of their last 11 games, Walter Clayton Jr. and the Gators could guarantee themselves a top seed in the NCAA Tournament with two more wins and the SEC Tournament title.

Alabama stands in the way. Labaron Philon, who posted 21 points, was one of five Crimson Tide players to score in double digits.

Alabama's bench also outscored Kentucky's reserves 44-9.

The Crimson Tide, which shot 50.7 percent from the field, outscored Kentucky 54-32 in the second half.
