Michigan State has now won eight straight games and remains on track for a potential rivalry matchup with Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game.

To get there, Michigan State will need to get past Wisconsin. The Badgers earned a spot in the semifinal with a blowout victory over UCLA.

John Tonje led Wisconsin with 26 points after going 9-for-10 from the field and 6-for-6 from behind the arc.

Wisconsin is looking to make it back to the conference championship game after losing the title to Illinois last year.

Later on Friday night, Maryland pulled out to a 19-point lead in the first 10 minutes against Illinois and never looked back.

Rodney Rice, who said he was going into the tournament with a "chip on my shoulder" after an All-Big Ten snub, led the Terrapins with 26 points in the blowout victory.

Maryland will take No. 3 Michigan for a place in the Big Ten title game.

Danny Wolf led Michigan with 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, while the Wolverines held Purdue to 33.8 percent shooting.

Michigan led 40-36 at halftime and kept its distance throughout the entire second half. Purdue cut the Wolverines' lead to 70-61 with seven minutes remaining, but Michigan responded with a 7-0 run to effectively put the game away.
