Report: Giants Host Joe Flacco Ahead of Russell Wilson Visit in NFL Free Agency
The New York Giants reportedly hosted a veteran quarterback on Thursday as the team prepares to have Russell Wilson in for a visit.
Per ESPN's Field Yates, free agent Joe Flacco visited with the Giants on Thursday. Wilson, who visited the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, is set to meet with New York on Friday.
Flacco, 40, spent the 2024 season with the Indianapolis Colts, recording 1,761 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games. The veteran started a few games but mostly played behind Anthony Richardson.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Though it's unclear exactly what the Giants' plans are, Flacco would seemingly serve in a backup role for whichever rookie quarterback New York drafts.
The Giants have the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft and could use that to select either Miami'sย Cam Wardย or Colorado'sย Shedeur Sandersย if either player is available.ย Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Departmentย projects New York to trade up to No. 1 and take Sanders.
Having already hosted Flacco and Wilson on his way for a visit tomorrow, one quarterback looms as another veteran option for the Giants. Aaron Rodgers has been linked to New York since his Jets exit and is still in the running to sign with the team.
ESPN's Dan Grazianoย reportedย onย Get Upย on Thursday that the Giants, along with the Steelers, "are begging" Rodgers to sign with them. NFL Network'sย Ian Rapoportย reported that New York told Rodgers it wants him to be the starting quarterback in 2025, which should work in the Giants' favor.
New York has a lot of thinking to do as it looks for its next starting quarterback, but visits with Flacco and Wilson should help give the Giants a better idea of which direction they want to go.
