Russell Wilson Rumors: Browns, Giants Visits Scheduled Amid Rodgers, Steelers Buzz
As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue their rumored pursuit of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former starter Russell Wilson is reportedly getting his ducks in a row in free agency.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Wilson is scheduled to visit with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday before meeting the New York Giants on Friday.
Wilson appears to be behind Rodgers in the pecking order while teams wait for the 41-year-old to decide on his next team after he was released by the New York Jets. In addition to being linked to the Steelers, Rodgers has also been rumored to be under consideration by the Giants and the Minnesota Vikings.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
While Rodgers has garnered most of the attention, Wilson's market appeared to be quiet, with a return to Pittsburgh seeming unlikely.ย Paul Schwartzย of theย New York Postย recently reportedย that "a source said the Steelers have not spoken with Wilson about a reunion" since the start of free agency.
Wilson started 11 games during his lone year in Pittsburgh and helped the team finish with a 10-7 record before falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card Round.
The Browns are reeling from the loss of quarterback Deshaun Watson, who tore his Achilles midway through the 2024 campaign and then re-ruptured it in January, putting his status for the 2025 season in jeopardy. Clevelandย acquiredย backup quarterback Kenny Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, but it appears that the franchise is still interested in the possibility of adding Wilson.
The Giants also entered the offseason with significant uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position, with backup Tommy DeVito as the only signal-caller on the roster. New York is an attractive destination for quarterbacks thanks to the presence of star receiver Malik Nabers, who earned a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie in 2024.
The Browns and Giants own the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, respectively, in the 2025 NFL draft. Both franchises could consider drafting one of the top quarterback prospects to build for the future even if Wilson signs with one of them, so it will be worth watching to see if that factors into his decision-making.
