San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle remains the favorite to win 2025 Rookie of the Year honors despite the improved play of Atlanta Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher.

Castle is the favorite with -430 odds and Memphis Grizzlies first-year wing Jaylen Wells sits at No. 2 with +1000 odds, via FanDuel Sportsbook. While Risacher has gained attention with his performances as of late, he has the third-best odds to win at +2000.

Grizzlies center Zach Edey and Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware round out the top five Rookie of the Year contenders, with both players owning +2500 odds.

Castle has remained a steady contributor in San Antonio's rotation throughout his first year in the league, alternating between the starting lineup and bench.

His scoring average of 13.5 points per game leads all qualifying rookies, recording 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists on a nightly basis.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft has also remained efficient inside the arc while developing his outside shooting, connecting on 50.1 percent of his two-point field goals despite hitting just 28.2 percent of his threes.

Castle has also progressed throughout the year, averaging 17.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game on 47.3/30.3/70.3 shooting splits over his last 15 games.

As for Risacher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft started his NBA career off slow. Through his first 10 appearances of the season, he shot a mere 37.3 percent from the field and 27.5 percent from behind the arc.

Similar to Castle, Risacher grew more comfortable as his inaugural season continued. He's caught fire from three-point territory as of late, connecting on 46 percent of his triples over his past 10 appearances.

On the season, Risacher owns averages of 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.4 minutes per game.

While the Hawks forward has shown promising signs regarding his long-term development, Castle still remains a heavy favorite to take home the Rookie of the Year award.
