March Madness 2025: Schedule and Bracketology Predictions for Top Men's Seeds

Zach BuckleyMar 6, 2025

The 2025 NCAA Tournament isn't here quite yet, but the madness of March clearly is.

This week alone we've seen Texas A&M spoil senior night at Auburn, BYU do the same at Iowa State (in a double-overtime thriller) and Ole Miss stun Tennessee. It's the most chaotic time in college basketball, and there will be more twists and turns ahead.

That's why seed lines are still moving, making this the perfect time to predict how the top seeds will shake out.

NCAA Tournament Schedule

1 of 3
Cal Poly v UCLA

Selection Sunday: March 16 at 6 p.m. ET

First Four: March 18-19

First round: March 20-21

Second round: March 22-23

Sweet 16: March 27-28

Elite Eight: March 29-30

Final Four: April 5

NCAA Championship: April 7

Seed Predictions: The Ones

2 of 3
Houston v Texas Tech

Auburn

The Tigers' resume is such that it can absorb that loss to Texas A&M without moving off the No. 1 seed line. Auburn still has 27 victories in 30 tries, including 10 triumphs over ranked opponents.

Duke

While this year's ACC hasn't exactly forced Duke to run the gauntlet, it's still worth noting that it's been a minute since the Blue Devils last broke a sweat. Since losing to Clemson on Feb. 8 (the first of seven straight wins for the Tigers, by the way), Duke has throttled seven consecutive opponents by at least 18 points.

Florida

The Gators entered Wednesday night as a No. 2 seed, but they exited it as a No. 1. Tennessee's loss paired with Florida's win over Alabama bumped the Gators slightly ahead, and while they'll have work to do at the conference tournament to hold on to it, this group has (mostly) played really good basketball of late.

Houston

The Big 12 is loaded yet again, but you'd never know it by how easily the Cougars have conquered it. Houston is 18-1 against conference foes, and the lone slipup was a one-point overtime loss to a Texas Tech team that has since climbed into the top 10. Houston has just four losses on the season overall, and all were decided by five points or fewer.

Seed Predictions: The Twos

3 of 3
Texas Tech v Kansas

Alabama

The Crimson Tide were sprinting past mostly everyone for much of this season, but they find themselves stumbling toward the finish line. A brutal schedule has admittedly had a hand in that, but Alabama still heads into its regular-season finale at Auburn having dropped four of its last six games.

Michigan State

This might sound like analysis copied and pasted from previous tournament previews, but coach Tom Izzo's team is heating up at the right time. The Spartans have been really good all season, but they've been all-caps GREAT of late, knocking off four consecutive ranked opponents by an average margin of 8.5 points.

Tennessee

The Volunteers won't free-fall following the Ole Miss loss, but they won't get their No. 1 seed back, either. They've gone a good-not-great 10-6 since their 14-0 start, and their latest loss was their second against an unranked opponent.

Texas Tech

The Red Raiders might have the most work to do to secure their No. 2 seed, but they have enough talent to pull it off. Sophomore forward JT Toppin, in particular, is on an absolute heater, having authored three 30-plus-point double-doubles in his last seven outings.
