Updated Bracketology for 2025 March Madness After Duke, Auburn, Alabama Games
The 2025 March Madness picture gained a bit more clarity following a hectic slate of games on Saturday.
No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Duke remained on the inside track to securing No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament after cruising to double-digit wins over No. 17 Kentucky and Florida State, respectively.
A matchup between No. 5 Tennessee and No. 6 Alabama contained a wild finish, with the Volunteers winning due to a buzzer-beating three from senior guard Jahmai Mashack.

The victory gave Tennessee a much higher chance of earning a No. 1 seed in the tournament over Alabama. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi indicated that Tennessee, Alabama and No. 4 Houston were the teams fighting for the final two No. 1 seeds entering Saturday's action.
The Cougars secured a win of their own on Saturday, taking down Cincinnati by the final score of 73-64.
No. 3 Florida remained in contention for a top March Madness seed by bouncing back from a loss to Georgia on Tuesday, clinching a 19-point victory over No. 12 Texas A&M.
There were varying results among teams on the bubble. Lunardi's last four teams in entering Saturday included Oklahoma and Texas, but both squads suffered losses that could drop them out of the tournament picture.
North Carolina continued its late push to enter the March Madness field, recording a fifth consecutive win by emerging victorious over Miami. Head coach Hubert Davis' team will look to keep building momentum when closing out the regular season against Virginia Tech and Duke.
Georgia and Xavier improved their chances of receiving spots with wins over Texas and Creighton, respectively. Both schools were among the first four out in Lunardi's latest projections, but they could enter the fray by ending the season on a high note and making noise in their respective conference tournaments.
Once again, the winners of each conference tournament will automatically qualify for March Madness spots.
For the rest of the teams vying for tournament berths, the full NCAA Tournament field will be unveiled on March 16.
