Windhorst: LeBron James 'Tired' of Michael Jordan Comparisons in NBA Discourse

Andrew PetersFeb 28, 2025

LeBron James has dealt with being compared to Michael Jordan for most of his career as fans constantly debate which player is the greatest of all time.

As James nears the end of his career, he's ready to be done hearing the constant discourse, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

"I do think he's tired of exactly that," Windhorst said on Get Up regarding James' thoughts on Jordan comparisons (10:00 mark).

James has earned the right to be mentioned in the same conversation as Jordan with his four MVPs, four NBA championships and countless accolades, but it's fair to say that discourse has at times gotten out of hand, and James seems ready to be done with it.

Windhorst's report of James tiring of the Jordan comparisons comes after comments about NBA discourse as a whole on Thursday.

“Channing Frye said it … ‘Why do you want to be the face of the league when all the people that cover our game and talk about our game on a day-to-day basis s--t on everybody?’” James said after Thursday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

James has been the face of the league for two decades now, so his comments will likely be a major talking point in the coming days. Regardless, he'll continue to do what he does best and play at a high level despite what fans and media are discussing.
