Video: Jalen Brunson Acknowledges Knicks' 'Horses--t' Record vs. NBA's Top Teams

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are well aware that the New York Knicks have yet to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics or Oklahoma City Thunder this season.

"Our record against the top teams in the NBA: pretty horses--t," Brunson said at the 1:50 mark of Thursday's Roommates Show episode.

After conceding a 118-105 loss to the Celtics last Sunday, the Knicks hold an 0-7 record against the league's top three teams.

Brunson said that record is frustrating in part because it has involved multiple blown fourth-quarter leads. In an Oct. 28 home loss to the Cavs, Darius Garland sunk multiple late three-pointers to spark the visitors' comeback. In a Jan. 3 loss in Oklahoma City, the Thunder outscored the Knicks 37-19 in the final 12 minutes of the game.

"I see where we have opportunities to where we can be aggressive, and pounce on it, and win," Brunson said. "The frustrating part about all this is that, we have what it takes. We have the personnel. We have everything we need in that locker room, right now. We've just got to put it together. The X's and O's, and all that stuff, that's easy. That's an easy fix.

"The number of times we've been embarrassed on national television, that should ring a bell. That should be a wake-up call in itself, not just for those games, just for the rest of the reason. We've got to wake the hell up."

Josh Hart told Brunson he received that wake-up call when, sidelined by injury, he watched from home last Friday as the Knicks lost 142-105 to the Cavaliers on the road.

"I think everyone should at least watch that game, and see how it looks," Hart said. "Because whatever else aside, it was embarrassing. And that's now who we are as a team... we're not going to settle for that being the product that we put on the court."

Despite their struggles against the top teams in the NBA, the Knicks are 11-5 since Jan. 20 and well on their way to a playoff berth.

How New York will fare against the Cavs or Celtics in a potential playoff matchup is another question. Brunson, Hart and the Knicks will get three more regular-season chances to prove they can contend with the best teams in the East in April.
