Report: Luka Doncic Tribute Video Being Planned by Mavs for Lakers Game on April 9
Even though the Dallas Mavericks unceremoniously got rid of Luka Dončić by trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this month, the organization is reportedly planning a tribute to the superstar guard when he returns to American Airlines Center for the first time as a visiting player.
Per ESPN's Michael Rothstein, the Mavs are planning a tribute video for Dončić when the Lakers visit Dallas on April 9.
That game is almost certainly the most anticipated matchup remaining in the regular season. Mavericks fans have made their feelings about the trade known, with protests inside and outside of their home arena during games since the deal went down on Feb. 2.

NBA Playoff Bracket After Knicks' Win
The environment inside the American Airlines Center on April 9 could be one of the most unique in NBA history because of how beloved Dončić remains in Dallas. This is a rare instance of a player changing teams but no one blaming him for the divorce.
Eric Medina, a Mavericks fan, told Rothstein he expects that Lakers fans will have a large presence at American Airlines Center and diehard Mavs fans are "still going to go for Luka."
There are no shortage of highlights of Dončić in a Mavs uniform to choose from. His greatest highlight was arguably the game-winning shot over Rudy Gobert in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals last season that propelled the Mavericks to the NBA Finals.
Dončić spent seven seasons in Dallas, making the All-Star team five times and All-NBA first team five times. He led the team to the playoffs four times, including their run to the NBA Finals last season.
