Blazers Interested in Butler
Sunday, July 5
According to Jason Quick of the Oregonian, the Portland Trail Blazers could be a potential landing spot for Butler:
However, Quick added that the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors are also among the teams interested in the 36-year-old.
Butler has played with five teams since the 2009-10 season, most recently landing in the nation's capital to play with the Washington Wizards. He appeared in 75 games, scoring 7.7 points and 2.6 rebounds primarily off the bench.
Despite a limited skill set, Butler's best attribute is still shooting from beyond the arc. He hit 38.7 percent of his three-point attempts last year and has a 36.3 percent career mark. The Trail Blazers are hurting for scoring depth after LaMarcus Aldridge announced he was going to sign with San Antonio.
Butler certainly wouldn't fill the entire void, but he's a veteran presence who can add a lot off the bench and in the locker room for his new team, whichever one that may be.
