Jazz Seeking Burke Trade

Thursday, June 25

According to Jody Genessy of the Deseret News, the Jazz want to trade Burke and would be inclined to use him as a piece prior to Thursday night's draft:

The ninth overall pick in the 2013 draft, Burke hasn't lived up to that potential. He has averaged 12.8 points and five assists per game, but he shoots 37.4 percent from the floor and has a career value over replacement player of minus-0.2, per Basketball-Reference.com.

Utah will be picking 12th overall in the draft and has multiple needs coming off a 38-44 season. Trying to piece a talented, albeit underachieving point guard in a deal that would bring talent back is a smart business strategy for the team, especially with Dante Exum needing to take on an expanded role in his second season.
