Iman Shumpert Sees 'San Andreas,' Asks Warriors to Give Up Home-Court Advantage

Kyle NewportJun 2, 2015

After a trip to the movies, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert has no interest in going to California for the 2015 NBA Finals.

Shumpert took some time Monday to see San Andreas, a movie that features a massive earthquake in California. The movie was apparently too much for the Cavaliers player to handle.

The Golden State Warriors earned home-court advantage throughout the 2015 NBA playoffs by going 67-15 in the regular season. However, after seeing the movie, Shumpert was hoping the Warriors would be willing to just play all of the games in Cleveland:

It never hurts to ask, right?

Well, Golden State had no interest in giving up home-court advantage:

Shumpert had to give the Warriors credit for their tweet:

Some may try to say that Shumpert "predicted" a sweep in his first tweet by saying the teams should play "all four [games]" in Cleveland. He was probably still a bit shaken up from the movie and just meant to say "all of the games." As some have noted, he may also have been referring to potentially having to play four games at Oracle Arena if the series goes seven games.

Shumpert did have plenty more thoughts on San Andreas:

Shumpert will have to put on his brave face as the Cavaliers head to Oakland to play Game 1 (Thursday) and Game 2 (Sunday) of the Finals. Given that a championship is on the line, he'll deal with going to California for a few days.
