Recap

It's hard to greatly boost your stock in a limited environment, but Kentucky star Devin Booker did all he could to turn heads on Friday.

The 18-year-old turned on the jets with his blazing times in the lane agility and shuttle drills. Here's how his 10.22-second time in the lane agility run looked, via NBA Draft on Twitter:

Booker added a 34.5-inch vertical leap for good measure. Dan Bodner of Kentucky Sports Connection noted the former Wildcat wanted to show off his agility to scouts and team executives this week:

In addition to the raw athleticism Booker displayed, his confidence was out in full force based on this response to a question about the draft's best shooter, via Keith Langlois of Pistons.com:

Another player whose efforts over the last two days has been as impressive as anyone's is Syracuse's Rakeem Christmas. ESPN's Chad Ford wrote Thursday that the former Orange star was impressive in every facet of the combine:

"

Not only were his measurements terrific -- 6-foot-9¾ in shoes, with a crazy 7-5¼ wingspan and 9-2½ standing reach (enough to project as an NBA center) -- but he also came out and dominated in the 5-on-5, scoring 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting, grabbing 6 rebounds and blocking a shot.

"

That trend continued on Friday in the second five-on-five game, as Christmas finished with a game-high 19 points and added six rebounds for good measure. He also did well in the agility drills, highlighted by a solid standing vertical jump, as Mike Waters of Syracuse.com noted:

Christmas didn't have a lot of buzz in the draft coming into Chicago, but that will certainly change after this week.

Speaking of Thursday standouts carrying over to Friday, Notre Dame's Pat Connaughton followed a dazzling physical display with another stellar outing in the first five-on-five game early in the afternoon. He and Duke's Quinn Cook led all scorers with 18 points. Here's the full box score, via ESPN's Ford:

Connaughton shot over 42 percent from three-point range last season for the Irish and figures to be in demand when the draft rolls around in June. He's also making sure teams know his future is in basketball and not baseball despite being a fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles last year, according to Sam Vecenie of CBS Sports:

On the list of impressive physical achievements, Florida's Chris Walker jumps out (literally) thanks to this vertical leap, via NBA Draft:

Unfortunately, Walker's good vibes wouldn't last once he got into the five-on-five scrimmage with defenders in his face, according to Nikko Tan of ESPN 850:

Of course, Walker is in the draft because he really had nowhere else to go. ESPN's Jeff Goodman noted after the former Florida prize's decision to leave the school "wasn't his own choice."

The draft combine has taken a hit in recent years with most top players opting not to take part in the festivities, and that leads to unheralded, possibly undrafted players like Walker getting a spot.

It's not hard to figure out why top prospects pass on the combine, as their stock only stands to go down if one thing goes even the slightest bit wrong.

This year's event has proved to be a great launching pad for under-the-radar prospects like Connaughton and Christmas. Casual fans wouldn't have known about them, nor would teams have kept a watchful eye on where they fell on draft night, but now they could be two of the biggest steals based on what's happened in Chicago.
