Corey Brewer Fined $5K for Flopping in Rockets vs. Clippers Game 2
The NBA has fined Houston Rockets swingman Corey Brewer $5,000 after he flopped in the team's Game 2 win against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
Inside Hoops tweeted out the details of Brewer's fine:
The flopping incident occurred late in the first quarter. With Houston leading 32-23, Brewer was defending a Clippers inbounds pass when it appeared as though Lester Hudson shoved the Rockets guard, causing him to fall to the ground.
However, replay showed that Hudson made very little contact with Brewer.
Brewer, who had 11 points in Game 2, has been a valuable bench presence for the Rockets this season. He averaged 11.9 points per game in the regular season and has increased his performance to 12.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in the playoffs (h/t Basketball-Reference.com).
The Rockets got a much-needed victory in Game 2 thanks to 64 free-throw attempts. Brewer's wallet will be a little lighter heading into Game 3 on Friday, though.
