Tim Duncan Becomes Oldest Player with 3 20-10 Games in 1 Series
San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan had 21 points and 11 rebounds in Tuesday's 111-107 Game 5 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, making him the oldest player in NBA history to record three games with 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds in a single playoff series, per NBA.com/Stats.
The 39-year-old big man has been a huge part of the Spurs' success during the first round's most exciting series, averaging 17.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.8 steals over 36.4 minutes as his team has jumped out to a 3-2 lead.
Duncan's first 20-10 showing of the series came in a 111-107 overtime victory in Game 2, when he led his team in both points (28) and rebounds (11).
Following a surprisingly weak showing of four points and seven boards in a Game 3 blowout victory, Duncan bounced back strong for 22 points and 14 rebounds in Game 4, although his Spurs still fell to the Clippers by a score of 114-105.
Duncan now has 102 games with 20-plus points and 10-plus rebounds in his playoff career, leaving him fourth on the all-time list behind Shaquille O'Neal (118), Karl Malone (112) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (108), per NBA.com/Stats.
Duncan's 239 playoff appearances are the most for any of the four players, but each member of the group ranks in the top 10 of the NBA's all-time playoff games played list, per Basketball-Reference.com.
