A number of worthy candidates will make that a most interesting pool of results. Headliners include Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

One favorite ought to be Player You Secretly Wish Was On Your Team. It's unclear whether the recipients of that designation will be a well-liked superstar or a gritty reserve who gets under the skin of many opponents.

Since the awards won't be announced for quite a while, the anticipation of these awards can be put on the back burner. At least they will offer a burst of excitement during a rather dormant time this NBA offseason.
