Nike LeBron 12 EXT 'Rubber City' Release Date Schedule, Pics and Retail Price
LeBron James' newest shoe—the Nike LeBron 12 EXT "Rubber City"—hits store shelves Saturday.
The sleek, modern look pays homage to James' hometown of Akron, Ohio, just as he leads the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA playoffs.
Here are the Saturday release details from Nike.com:

Foot Locker provided a look at the slick design:
Nike provides a closer look at the inspiration behind the design and "rubber" look, which pays homage to what James knows best:
"The latest LeBron XII EXT digs deep into James’ Ohio roots, featuring a design inspired by Akron’s long-established rubber industry. A city widely recognized for its bustling factories, Akron has produced countless rubber goods, most notably automotive tires for vehicles all over the globe.
"
An almost all-black design is the first thing about this offering of the Nike LeBron 12 that catches the eye, with an innovative tread-like design on the rubber upper that is meant to feel like a tire.
Of course, it wouldn't be a shoe befit of a king without some luxury. Not only is the swoosh on the side a metallic chrome, the bottom boasts a bit of hexagonal translucent ice.
SneakerMob.com provides a look at the innovative bottom:
Sneaker Bar Detroit offers a closer look at the inside, which features a smooth design:
TheShoeGame.com focuses on the back:
Last but not least, PopularKulture shows the new kicks in a quite fitting environment with tires in the background of the image:
As with any offering from James, it should go without saying this latest iteration will prove effective on the hardwood or blacktop. The design offers plenty of upper-ankle flexibility and a cushion fit for takeoff and landing.
Off the court, the Rubber City edition has a unique look that is sure to force stares on the street. Black-on-black with a dash of chrome and ice always grabs attention, but a unique feel throws in a wrinkle most are not accustomed to seeing on new kicks.
As a total package, Saturday's release will set the bar quite high for the rest of the calendar.
